Mundus Transfiguratus
Towards a Queer Ecological Mythology
Mundus Transfiguratus is an interdisciplinary project informed by ecology, mythology, and queer phenomenology. In this body of work, I de-construct ancient myths and bring them to life in a contemporary context, as a counter narrative, and re-interpreted from a queer perspective.
This project challenges anthropocentric thinking and questions human supremacy, offering an ecological vision in which non-human entities hold agency and importance. Through this work, I aim to shift how we perceive relationships between humans, other species, and the environment, encouraging a more inclusive, fluid, and relational understanding of identity and existence.
In Mundus Transfiguratus I create and document queer journeys that materialise as immersive installations and performative events and storytelling. Through these performances, the project unfolds as an experimental, participatory psychodrama interweaving fiction and reality, legend and biography. It explores themes of conflict, displacement, and trauma, while also celebrating hope, love, and the resilience of those who overcome adversity.
