Mundus Transfiguratus

Towards a Queer Ecological Mythology

Mundus Transfiguratus depicts an alternative mythological world where queer transmogrified beings reclaim centre stage and challenge the established perception of human supremacy. This experimental counter narrative interweaves fiction and reality, legend and biography. It explores themes of conflict, displacement and trauma, while also celebrating hope, love, and the resilience of those who overcome adversity.

Part 3. The Realm of the Diviners

Divinatory Imaginaries

Otherness remains a deeply charged subject in philosophy and political discourse and the ways in which societies construct boundaries, whether through the concept of the foreign or the supernatural, have a profound influence on collective identities. Divinatory Imaginaries explores how divinatory rituals often revolve around interactions with otherworldly entities or forces, shedding light on the psychological need for categorisation and the creation of symbolic divisions.

In Divinatory Imaginaries, transmogrified diviners engage in ritualistic dances of divination for the ruling Houses - summoning the spectre of otherness and invoking the unseen forces that shape Mundus Transfiguratus.
